Culprate’s attempt at mellow

Firstly, Culprate’s new EP Nightmares in Reality is brilliant! Go get it.

‘Two’ is my favourite from the new record, bar ‘Tooth Fairy’ which unfortunately hasn’t made it’s way on to Soundcloud yet.

The main reason I love ‘Two’ is the journey it takes you on, starting mellow with various percussion sounds and choppy synths, a vocal sample emerges giving the song real atmosphere. The next synth melody feels almost indian in its progression before returning to the previous beat. Slowly the bass builds and the song starts to feel lethargic and mellow and for a tune of just under 4 minutes it has the complexity to suit a song much longer in duration.
