Mark ‘Wilkinson‘ from South-West London is a signee to Andy C’s legendary RAM Records and has been releasing records from that outlet for three years now amongst them collaborations with Cynatific and Delta Heavy.
This track was released on a single late last year and it just encompasses everything that is good about post-2010 drum & bass. Starting with jungle drum sounds and a strummed guitar rhythm section it builds up to the multi-voiced, heavily reverbed vocal sample before the Sub Focus-esque synth melody rears its head and gives you a hint at what’s coming. Suddenly it drops, guitar is gone, jungle becomes big heavy-hitting snares and a two-note rhythm takes hold alongside the aforementioned melody.
This track has had me bouncing around the room for weeks and I assure you it’ll do the same to you.
